Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for someone who wants to help develop student health at Sorgenfriskolan in the role of school nurse.

The school nurse's mission includes following students' development towards knowledge goals, working health-promoting, preventive, conducting vaccination programs, organizing school doctor appointments, following the basic program, and performing simpler healthcare interventions.

You are interested in working both with preventive health work and handling the other tasks necessary for a well-functioning medical student health service. You have a desire to further develop a modern school nurse assignment together with the student health team, educators, and other colleagues in Malmö City's medical student health.

You work together with the school's student health team and staff and have a genuine interest in the school's students as well as a desire to support students in reaching their goals in school. As a school nurse, you will also collaborate with guardians and other organizations and authorities outside of school. You work for a safe school environment that promotes health, learning, and security. The assignment also involves documentation in digital tools.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is already working as a school nurse or who wants to further develop in their profession as a nurse. You are a licensed nurse with specialist training as a pediatric nurse, district nurse, or school nurse.

You need to have at least two years of experience as a nurse, and it is advantageous if you already have experience working as a school nurse. It is also advantageous if you have experience in health-promoting work with children and young people.

As a person, you are structured and organized in your work, as well as responsible and secure in your role.

About the Workplace

As a school nurse, you operate under a dual leadership. You are employed by the principal at the school but also have a central operations manager according to HSL who is medically responsible. You have a close collaboration with both managers, who ensure that you receive a good introduction and ongoing support in your position. As a school nurse with us in Malmö City, you are part of a network together with other school nurses at our schools around the city. In the network, you meet regularly and have annual joint training on current topics.

Located in central Malmö, Sorgenfriskolan is in a calm and pleasant environment. The school has two parallel classes for grades F-9 housed in a beautiful 1920s building. About 580 students attend the school. The school works with collegial learning in subject groups and has a particular focus on value-based work. Teachers work in teams around each grade. We work hard to offer a good learning environment for students. The school day should be characterized by an accepting climate with great respect for one another. Here, the student's development is at the center, and we assume that everyone can succeed as long as we support them in the right way.
