Welcome to the neurology department in Trelleborg! Here we have a great working environment and a strong team spirit. We support each other and have fun at work. We offer you a varied job with good development opportunities!

The neurology department is one of three internal medicine inpatient departments at Trelleborg Hospital. Here we work in interdisciplinary teams with the patient at the center. We care for patients with various neurological diseases. With us, you will primarily meet stroke and TIA patients from the acute phase to the beginning of the rehabilitation phase. The department also handles acute stroke alarms with the possibility of thrombolysis treatment. We value stroke competence within the team, which is why we have an annual stroke competence training program that is scheduled during working hours and lasts for one year for new employees.

We are a smaller hospital and work closely with our MAG team to care for patients further along in their care trajectory, before transferring them to a higher level of care. This contributes to increased acute care competence. An outpatient clinic is connected to the department where follow-ups are conducted for patients who have been treated for TIA and stroke. Inpatients on the department are welcome to day rehabilitation after discharge if needed. Here, training is conducted individually or in groups and is guided by the patients' needs and wishes. We also have a close collaboration with the hospital's outpatient services for neurological patients. As a new nurse, you will receive an introduction period of six weeks, during which regular check-ins are conducted to assess your progress in your basic knowledge of neurology and the department's routines.

Trelleborg Hospital, with its approximately 500 employees, is a personal hospital with great opportunities. We provide specialized basic healthcare for a catchment area of just over 100,000 residents. Here, it is easy to influence, which makes us adaptable. In our department, we care about a good working climate, where consideration and respect for each other and our different professions are a given.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you find it exciting to have the opportunity to become part of our wonderful team? Then you are warmly welcome to us, and we look forward to welcoming a new nursing colleague for night shifts.

Your responsibilities include common nursing tasks on the ward. You will work closely with other nurses, the rehabilitation team, nursing assistants, doctors, medical secretaries, and pharmacists. You and your colleagues are the best advocates for ensuring that patients receive good, safe, and personalized care, and as an employee with us, you have a significant say in how care is provided.

We will tailor your introduction and continuing education plan based on your previous experiences. With us, staff, the unit's responsible doctor, and team leaders are involved in the introduction for new hires and actively work to continuously review routines. Here, we strive to stay updated on evidence and development. We can offer you an introduction within the field or more advanced training in stroke/neurology, depending on your level of expertise.

We work systematically to develop broad competencies and collaborate within the hospital across units and areas of activity. We actively work to implement person-centered care (PCC) in all units. The hospital offers numerous development opportunities in the form of internal training and projects; for instance, we have a training wheel with different focuses each month that runs throughout the year.
