What we do and want

The Adult Unit is a department within the Labor Market and Social Administration of Tyresö Municipality.

The unit is divided into two operations, authority and open care (Måsen). In total, we have 16 people working in the adult unit. We have close leadership with a unit manager and group leaders, as well as administrative support.

Our mission is to provide support and treatment to adults with harmful use of alcohol, drugs, and/or gambling, as well as criminality. We also offer support to their relatives. Our goal is for the individual to experience an improved quality of life.

We are now looking for two social workers for the authority part.

As an employee in the adult unit, you are fundamentally a staff member within our entire administration, and the expectation is that you can also support other units when needed. We see this as a development opportunity and that it increases the conditions for good internal cooperation, which benefits the residents of Tyresö.

Moving forward, we will continue the work of implementing the new Social Services Act. In the autumn of 2026, we will work on developing employee leadership, which is a major initiative in the municipality.

About the position

We are looking for two social workers.

The main tasks of the position include regular authority exercise, motivational work, supporting clients, and coordinating various efforts and actors around the client.

The target group is adults with harmful use/dependency on alcohol, drugs, medication, and/or gambling. The target group also includes work with adults who want to leave a criminal lifestyle, which includes exit programs and social intervention groups.

For us, social work is important. We strongly believe that the relationship is the foundation of all change work and that the client’s network is of great importance for motivation and sustainability over time.

We work purposefully to continuously improve and develop our working methods. You will be an active part of the goal work and development work in the unit, within the administration, and in the municipality, and we value leveraging each other’s experiences and knowledge.

The positions are permanent employment with start date by agreement.

Who are you?

You should have a degree in social work and training in ASI, MI, and LVM.

You should have experience working as an authority-exercising social worker with the target group in the near past (last year). Experience working with criminality and dropouts is an advantage.

You should have knowledge of harmful use and dependency on alcohol, drugs, and/or gambling. You should also have knowledge of comorbidity. Knowledge of criminality, SIG, and exit programs is an advantage.

You need to have very good knowledge of the laws and regulations that govern the work.

Very good knowledge of the Swedish language is required for the position.

As a person, you have achieved personal maturity. You are flexible and have very good collaboration skills. You are skilled in relationship-building work and have a problem-solving analytical ability.
