The Northern Inner City area provides support and services for people with disabilities according to LSS.

We provide services to adults with disabilities. Our mission is to offer support and service based on individual needs and wishes, and we actively work to promote equality and full participation in community life for our tenants. The work is characterized by an empathetic and professional approach, a structured working method, and a low-arousal and respectful attitude towards tenants and colleagues.

We are now looking for temporary support assistants who want to work at the Northern Inner City service housing LSS.

Your role

In your role as a support assistant, you will be part of a workgroup together with other colleagues. Your task is to perform support measures for tenants based on the implementation plan, primarily consisting of support with service tasks such as cleaning, laundry, shopping, and cooking. The needs may vary depending on what support the tenant requires. The format can be in the form of SMS, phone calls, or physical visits where you provide direct support in the tenant's own apartment.

We work with independence and participation, which means that the work is done together with the individual.

The work includes support with escorting to various activities and/or healthcare facilities and authorities. An important task is to help break social isolation, which involves support with various leisure and cultural activities on an individual basis, but also joint activities with other tenants. Collaboration between different service housing is something we see as an important part of the work, enabling more opportunities to participate in various activities between the operations.

Working alone is part of the job, which means you need to feel secure as a person and be able to think in solutions, and have a genuine interest and knowledge about the target group.

Your qualifications and experience

You need to have:

• Training as a nursing assistant with a focus on disabilities, alternatively a preschool teacher education or other education deemed equivalent.
• Knowledge of neuropsychiatric diagnoses or mild intellectual disabilities.
• Experience working with the target group.

It is advantageous to have:

• previous work in service housing

Other

Some of our tenants have pets and leisure activities involving animals, so it is important that you do not have any allergies or difficulties working where there are animals.

Leisure activities such as swimming in swimming pools are a popular activity, so you should also not have any allergies and you must be able to swim.

If you have knowledge of mental health issues and substance abuse, we consider that valuable knowledge.
