The Position and Responsibilities

As a school social worker at Karsby, you will work proactively, preventively, and remedially with a focus on creating a good environment for students' health, development, and learning based on proven research.

Your role includes working against bullying, discrimination, and degrading treatment. You will conduct supportive and motivational conversations with individual students and groups, conflict resolution discussions, and social investigations and assessments.

You will engage in value-based work and participate in the planning, establishment, and implementation of action plans within the value-based work. You will be available for advice and consultation on various issues. A natural part of your work involves contacts with students, guardians, and staff, as well as collaboration with external organizations outside the school, such as social services, child and adolescent psychiatry, habilitation, etc. You are part of the school's student health team.

You set boundaries based on your assignment and prioritize your tasks according to the Swedish National Agency for Education's directives. You will participate in the local crisis group together with school management.

Of course, you have a respectful approach towards people's differences and prioritize safe and good relationships while sharing the school's values. You have the ability to identify and create opportunities for change and development at the student, group, and organizational levels. You also need to manage and prioritize various types of cases and tasks. Flexibility is your guiding principle, and you have a good ability to vary your working methods based on needs.

Who We Are Looking For

Requirements:

• Degree in Social Work
• Excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Digital competence for documentation and other administrative tasks.

Meritorious:

• Experience working as a social worker in a school setting.
• Good knowledge of the Education Act and Social Services Act.
• Experience from municipal operations.
