Are you ready for a bigger task?

The Swedish Police Authority is Sweden's largest authority with approximately 40,000 employees across the country. With us, you have the opportunity to contribute to the Police's mission – to increase safety and reduce crime in society.

Police Region South is organized into five police areas: Blekinge, northeastern Skåne, Kalmar, Kronoberg, Malmö, northwestern Skåne, and southern Skåne, which are together divided into 20 local police areas. Furthermore, there are four regional units: the operational unit, the intelligence unit, the investigation unit, and border police, a regional office, as well as national departments represented in the region to support police operations.

Police Area Southern Skåne is one of the police areas in Region South. The geographical area covers 16 municipalities. Police Area Southern Skåne is divided into five local police areas: Eslöv, Kävlinge, Lund, Trelleborg, and Ystad. Within the police area, there is also an investigation section, an investigation jour section, and a local office.

The investigation jour section is organized at the police area level under the investigation section. The function is responsible for leading preliminary investigations and initial investigative measures for the entire police area around the clock. The mission of the investigation jour section is to meet and manage the police area's influx of crime reports in a timely manner, both in prioritized cases involving, for example, detained persons and in volume crimes.
