Job Responsibilities

The position of educator is linked to the Mapping unit, which belongs to the Department of Guidance and Career Support.

In the department, educators, study and career counselors, study and career informers, and administrators work together. Currently, 13 people work in the Mapping unit, responsible for mapping the conditions for studies, assessing knowledge for admission to adult education, and evaluating any need for adjustments and support before studies. The unit is also responsible for applications for education in Swedish for immigrants (SFI).

In your role as an educator, you will work in a team with our other educators. The primary tasks of the educators are to map the applicants' conditions and knowledge before applying for adult education. Tasks may include educational mappings, assessments of tests, and handling applications. You may also hold information sessions for applicants. You will closely collaborate with other professionals such as admission officers and study and career counselors in the admission processes before our course starts. The unit also has an outreach mission, which means you collaborate with other professionals to motivate individuals to apply for SFI at our various venues in the city.

The work includes administrative tasks. The administrative IT systems you will primarily work with are our student administrative system Edlevo, our case management system Kosmos, and our digital knowledge test Educateit. You will also participate in the unit's work to evaluate, develop, and improve the processes we work with.

The work can involve a high pace at times, but we work in teams and help and support each other to keep track of what needs to be done. As the administration faces new challenges, the content of the position may change partially.

The position is temporary until the end of the year, starting as soon as possible.

Qualifications

You must have a teaching degree with authorization to teach Swedish for immigrants (SFI) and Swedish as a second language for grades 7–9, corresponding to 45-60 ECTS credits.

In addition to your education, you should have at least one year of professional experience in the same or a similar field related to the position. The position requires you to have very good computer skills and be able to express yourself well in both Swedish and English, both orally and in writing. We also see it as an advantage if you are multilingual.

It is meritorious if you have experience working within SFI/adult education or have worked with student administrative systems and case management systems.

You should be self-driven and able to take responsibility for your tasks. You need to be flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances.
