JOB DESCRIPTION

You and your colleagues will work directly with inmates in various forms of guided activities that you will be responsible for designing and conducting. Under the supervision of the responsible correctional officer and together with colleagues, you will plan and lead the ASV (Alternative Structured Activity) program. The purpose of the program is to provide inmates with activities during their time in prison and to give practical experience in creative work such as ceramics, music, etc.

You are fundamentally a correctional officer, and the role also includes security work. You may work as a resource and assist in other parts of the structured activities, such as learning centers and client departments.

Your task in this position will be to guide and instruct clients in the creative workshop. Daily routine tasks such as searches and other security-related duties are also included in your responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with knowledge, preferably in music or ceramics, as these are parts of the ASV program. Additionally, we seek someone who is secure, stable, and self-aware. You find it easy to collaborate with others and have well-founded and clear values. In stressful situations, you remain calm, stable, and controlled. You have the ability to make correct assessments and priorities. You have a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and adapt your way of conveying messages based on the recipient's conditions. You should also have a physical condition that allows you to act physically if the situation requires it.

You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience in ceramics and/or music
  • Completed upper secondary education or other training combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing
  • Good computer skills

It is advantageous if you have:

  • Post-secondary education in crafts, music, ceramics, pedagogy, or security work, etc.
  • Work experience as a supervisor
  • Work experience in corrections, security work, social care, psychiatry, or healthcare and social work.
  • Work experience in crafts, creative work, wellness, cooking/baking, music, pedagogy, criminology, and/or conflict management, etc.
  • Driver's license (B)
  • Relevant language skills
