About Laholm Municipality

It is in the meeting with our residents that the value of our work arises! As an employee of Laholm Municipality, you are part of delivering services and support to our residents – every day, all year round. Laholm Municipality encompasses everything from care, support, and education for our residents to infrastructure, maintenance, cultural life, and growth. We believe that every employee has the drive and ability to improve operations and a desire to develop in their profession.

As an employee of Laholm Municipality, you have colleagues with many different professions and backgrounds, but what unites us is our mission and our common values with the guiding words joy, courage, participation, engagement, and good example.

Labor Market Unit

The Labor Market Unit has the primary task of supporting individuals who are outside the labor market on their way to self-sufficiency. We act professionally and qualitatively in everything we do, and we believe in every person's ability. Together with municipal and private employers, we want to motivate various career paths and thus contribute to the future skills supply in both the business sector and the municipality. Leadership is present, clear, and trusting of the employee.

Do you want to help strengthen young people's path to studies and work?

Are you passionate about analyzing the needs of the target group, collaboration, and creating sustainable solutions for young people who are outside of high school? Then you might be the one we are looking for.

The municipalities' activity responsibility (KAA) targets youth aged 16 to 20 who are not attending high school or have completed it with incomplete grades. The task is to identify the target group, contact the youth, and offer support that primarily motivates them to study, and secondarily to other meaningful activities.

We are now expanding our team for an initiative between the social services and the education department with a joint mission focused on youth.

Your tasks

As a labor market investigator in KAA/AME, you meet young people between 16 and 19 years old who do not have a complete high school diploma. Your task is to support them during a crucial period in their lives by helping them find direction, create structure, and take steps towards employment. In this work, you are part of a team with KAA team members, development leaders, labor market investigators, and job coaches, where you collectively coordinate efforts around each youth.

The role is varied and relational. You are responsible for the bridge between KAA and AME and act as a cohesive force in these processes. You map the youth's situation, formulate action plans, follow up on efforts, and document their development. In your daily work, you use methods such as Supported Education, Supported Employment, motivational interviewing, and BIP/SKAPA, and adapt your approach according to each individual's needs.

An important part of the assignment is to create meaningful activities, both individually and in groups. This may involve strengthening health, building community, or developing skills that bring youth closer to studies or work. The activities are always shaped based on their interests and conditions, and you have ample opportunity to think creatively and find practical solutions.

The work takes place close to the everyday lives of the young people you meet. You move between internships, schools, social services, the Employment Agency, and the municipality's various meeting places. In some cases, meetings occur in the youth's local area or at home.

At the same time, you are part of a close and supportive team where collaboration is central. You plan efforts together, review cases, coordinate support, and collectively contribute to developing work within both KAA and AME.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree, for example in social sciences, social work, pedagogy, or another university education that the employer deems equivalent. Education in Supported Education, Supported Employment, or motivational interviewing (MI) is advantageous.

Knowledge of neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPF) or documented experience of working with youth in great need of support is meritorious, as is experience from KAA. Experience with methods such as BIP/SKAPA is also a plus.

You have previously worked with youth or young adults and have good insight into the support functions and education system in society. You need to be able to document professionally, collaborate closely with others, and at the same time plan and structure your own daily work. A valid driver's license (B) is required as the job involves outreach efforts.

As a person, you are secure, attentive, and relationship-building. You easily establish trust, even when the starting point is uncertain, and you remain calm when situations change. You work with commitment and structure, and have a solution-focused approach that helps youth take steps forward, even when the way ahead is not clear.

You act according to our municipality's common values and are a role model for other employees. You encourage participation and creativity, show personal care by providing support and confronting in a good spirit, both for your closest colleagues and for the organization as a whole. Through your way of acting and communicating, this approach spreads further in the organization and creates motivated and creative colleagues.
