We are now looking for a social welfare officer for a temporary position in the elderly care unit.

Currently, we have 14 dedicated officers, a team leader, and a unit manager who together create a supportive and developing work environment. Every employee is an important part of our team, where we support each other in daily tasks and drive the unit's development forward.

We process applications according to SoL, LSS, and the national transport service law. Our administrative department assists with invoice review and fee management, allowing us to focus on social work and the core of social welfare case management.

Our office is located in Skärholmen center, close to shopping and a wide range of lunch options. We share an open office landscape with other units within social services.

Your role

As a social welfare officer with us, you will meet people over 65 years old with varying backgrounds and needs, including those with substance abuse, mental health issues, dementia, or physical care needs. You will be responsible for assessing needs, making decisions about interventions, and collaborating with both internal and external actors to find the best solutions for our elderly.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Conducting home visits, office visits, and discharge planning from inpatient care
  • Working in the city's social systems, such as Paraplyet and Lifecare
  • Assessing and deciding on interventions such as home care, day activities, and special housing forms according to the Social Services Act
  • Written documentation and case management

Your skills and experience

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another higher education that we consider equivalent. It is desirable if you have knowledge of relevant legislation. Experience in authority work within elderly care and familiarity with the city's documentation systems Paraplyet and Lifecare is also an advantage.

As a person, you need to be comfortable driving various development projects within the unit that align with our operational goals and be solution-focused. You should also feel secure in being in the spotlight and sharing your knowledge with your colleagues as part of our operational development. We place great importance on your personal skills and your commitment to the position.

This position is a temporary role from February to August 2026, with the possibility of extension.
