Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
The Hässelby-Vällingby district administration is located in western Stockholm, close to beautiful nature areas and good transportation. We are about 1700 proud and dedicated employees who provide high-quality service to the residents of the district every day. Our work environment is characterized by collaboration, courage, and participation. Our strength lies in the diversity among residents, which is also reflected in our staff. Together we make a difference!
Do you thrive in a varied job that involves many contacts, documentation, and making decisions that affect individuals? Then this could be a position for you.
We are looking for someone to work as a social worker at the adult reception. We have the first contact with residents seeking financial assistance or support regarding dependency and harmful use.
The role of a social worker with us is significant and multifaceted. In dialogue with the client, you work to find a solution for the unique individual. You often meet people in crisis and with complex life situations. In your work, you collaborate with other units within the district administration and external partners.
Your main tasks include
- conducting the first phone interview for residents seeking financial support
- receiving reports of concern for residents with dependency and harmful use via phone or email
- guiding citizens correctly to other forms of support if possible
- conducting home visits
- investigating the individual's entire economy
- motivating residents with dependency and harmful use to take advantage of available support
- gathering information, making assessments, and making decisions
- documenting and processing written communication with internal and external parties that the individual needs to contact
With us, you will have wonderful colleagues who enjoy their work. We help each other and care about a good work environment. We continuously develop our operations with a focus on our target group, and you are welcome to contribute to this development through engagement in change work. Here in Hässelby Vällingby, we actively work on the transition to the new law and have a vision that social services should be easily accessible, knowledge-based, and work preventively - we would love to have you on that journey.
The reception team consists of 9 social workers and a unit manager. Based on the new social services law, the group works to find new working methods and new forms of collaboration. You are expected to support your colleagues in the group based on needs and capacity.
To thrive in this role, you should have good collaboration skills and be service-oriented, as the work involves many internal and external contacts. You have the ability to make decisions under time pressure or with limited information in your daily work as an authority practitioner. You have a good ability to adapt to different situations as you never know who is calling and what the situation is about. You are keen to provide good service. Furthermore, you have a holistic view that ensures you consider the best interests of the entire operation. To succeed in this role, you need to be able to work towards clear goals and achieve results, as well as be financially aware. We place great importance on your personal skills and your commitment to the position.
