We are now developing our operations with a parent secretary who will be part of our placement group. The placement group consists of five child secretaries, two foster care secretaries, and one team leader. The unit also includes IFO authority and family law.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now looking for a brave and secure parent secretary. As a parent secretary, you will support parents with foster care placed children. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the parent and social worker, where the parent secretary is part of the work concerning the placed child together with the parent, social worker, and foster parents, the so-called tripartite parenthood. Since the position is new, it will develop over time, and you will be an important part of that development.

Your tasks will include:

• Helping parents understand the content of investigations and documents, such as care plans, implementation plans, and visitation plans.
• Providing conversational support that strengthens parents with children placed in social care.
• Informing about the rights and obligations of being a parent of foster care placed children.
• Recognizing and strengthening the development the parent is making and providing support in the continued development that may be needed to be a secure parent from a distance.
• Accompanying as a silent support at meetings with social services.
• Providing parents with information about the tripartite parenthood, an approach where social services are responsible for ensuring that cooperation between parents, foster parents, and social services works as well as possible, always with the child's best interests in focus.
• Explaining the different professional roles within foster care and their functions.

You will not have authority or decision-making power but will have an advisory and supportive function.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in working according to the above, someone who feels that this team is where they want to be a part of or who thinks that this position in this municipality sounds perfect for them – here they can thrive and contribute with their skills. In other words, we are looking for someone who truly has an interest in the role and believes in our way of working and organizing, but who can also consider developing as a social worker.

Of course, you also need to meet some more formal requirements. Among these, you should have a degree in social work and previous experience in investigative work within social services with children and youth. It is also important that your personal suitability, engagement, and attitude fit into the role and the work group.

As a person, you have the ability to listen to different perspectives and collaborate with others. You are also good at structuring your work, prioritizing, and carrying out the tasks you have. Furthermore, you are familiar with current legislation and have a good ability to express yourself in the Swedish language, both orally and in writing. You are interested in learning and developing in your work and take personal responsibility for ongoing knowledge development.
