We are now looking for someone who wants to work approximately 85% with a young boy with a severe CP injury who needs support around the clock. We are looking for an engaged and reliable person who thrives in a meaningful role where you contribute to the boy's quality of life.

About the assignment

You will work as a personal assistant for a cheerful and social boy in his 14s who lives with a severe CP injury and has difficulties with movement and transfers. He also has a significant hearing impairment. Besides school, the boy has a great interest in playing games, riding, being outdoors, and spending time with his family and other people. He wants to be involved when things happen and enjoys coming up with activities. He appreciates an active and varied everyday life, but routines and predictability are important to create security and stability.

Your role involves being a support in his daily life both at home, at school, and during various activities. This means you will accompany him in everything that happens in his life and provide physical and communicative support in all conceivable situations. You will become an important part of a team that actively works to provide him with a meaningful existence based on his own needs, wishes, and conditions. The home where most work shifts begin and end is an 8-minute walk from the Storgatan bus stop in Staffanstorp.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is secure, structured, attentive, and meticulous as a person. Our team needs someone who is proactive, fearless, and responsible. Since the boy has certain challenges in social interaction and communication, it is crucial that you can read situations and express yourself clearly and appropriately. The boy is sensitive to infections, so you must follow good hygiene routines and stay home even with a mild cold.

There is a pet allergy in the family, but if you come in clean clothes, it's fine to have your own pets.

Requirements and wishes:

• It is a requirement that you are smoke- and snuff-free.
• It is a requirement to be a good swimmer and you must tolerate chlorine.
• It is a requirement to tolerate pets and not be afraid of horses.

We wish that you have experience with alternative and augmentative communication and/or sign language, but the most important thing is that you want to learn this. Previous experience in personal assistance or working with people with disabilities is desirable but not a requirement.

Working hours and introduction

The boy has assistance around the clock with awake night shifts. Your introduction will primarily take place during the day/evening, but after the introduction, you will also work awake night shifts. The position is a temporary contract for about 7 months with a possibility of a permanent position later.
