Operations Controller for Northern City Center's Elderly Care

The Northern City Center district consists of the central parts of Stockholm, Norrmalm, and Östermalm. Here we work to provide our 155,000 residents with the best services in preschool, social services, elderly care, and urban development. Welcome to us
The Northern City Center's elderly care department is responsible for authority exercise and the provision of services for individuals over 65 years old.
The department is led by a department head and is organized into four areas with area managers and underlying units and unit managers. The elderly care department is a large operation with high competence and great drive. We are proud of our work and have a common focus on continuously developing operations and collaboration in dialogue with stakeholders – aiming to create the best possible quality for both residents and employees.
Within the department, there is a support unit led by a unit manager who reports directly to the department head. Here, operational controllers/ business developers, dietitians, medically responsible nurses, adjunct clinical lecturers, documentation process leaders, dementia coordinators, and project managers work. The unit currently consists of 13 employees.
One of our operational controllers is retiring, and we are therefore looking for you who want to become part of our ambitious and competent team. Together we drive and support development work and ensure good quality in our operations. The elderly care in Northern City Center is one of the city's academic nodes and collaborates with educational institutions and academia, among other things regarding workplace-based education (WBE).

Your role
As an operations controller, you are responsible for planning and conducting operational and contract follow-ups, conducting investigations according to Lex Sarah, and handling complaints and feedback at an overarching level. You analyze results, follow up and evaluate efforts, and provide qualified support to operations to achieve set goals and contribute to development and improvement work.
In this position, you will also have a particular focus on supporting the department's work with preparedness and local issues. The work is varied and changeable, and tasks may change over time based on political goals and new assignments.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for you who have:
- a university degree that the employer deems relevant
- experience in independently driving complex development and improvement work
- very good communication skills and can express yourself clearly and pedagogically in Swedish in both speech and writing
It is meritorious if you have:
- experience in change management
- experience in similar roles, such as operations controller, business developer, or method developer
- experience working within the City of Stockholm
- experience working in elderly care
To succeed in the role, you need to be professional, self-driven, and take responsibility for your tasks and processes. You work in a structured manner, plan and prioritize effectively based on goals, timelines, and given conditions. The role involves many internal and external contact points, which requires good collaboration skills as well as clear, pedagogical, and professional communication.
