Administrator for Adult Education at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transport.

The position is located in the Adult Education section at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's headquarters in Norrköping.

Adult Education is a cohesive organization with operations across the country. Students, career counselors, teachers, special educators, pedagogical supervisors, principals, and vice principals are located in various places and spread across seven principal areas.

You will be one of four administrators at the headquarters. The administration is part of the Adult Education office along with expert and investigative functions, under the leadership of the school manager. You will also collaborate closely with teachers, principals, vice principals, and other stakeholders within the organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Your tasks will include common administrative duties within an educational organization, such as registering teachers, students, and courses/subject levels, as well as managing admissions, grades, and certificates. The administrative support system used is Adela, but with special adaptations since specific security conditions apply within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. It also includes contributing to development work for continuous improvements together with others.

QUALIFICATIONS

You work well with others, listen, and communicate effectively, while also taking responsibility for your tasks and structuring your own work. Furthermore, you easily adapt to changing conditions and see opportunities in changes. In your role as an administrator, you are calm, attentive, and accommodating. You have an interest in, willingness, and ability to help others and strive to resolve various situations.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A high school diploma.
• Experience in educational administration within municipal adult education or equivalent operations.
• Experience working in educational administrative support systems.
• The ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.

It is an advantage if you:

• Have a degree in administration.
• Have experience in distance education.
• Can express yourself in spoken and written English.
