Job Responsibilities

The focus is on the fabrication of dielectric metamaterials for advanced light manipulation functions such as spectrally controlled reflectivity and transmission, down-conversion, light trapping and extraction, nonlinear effects, and solar cells.

The work involves electromagnetic modeling of metamaterials, nanofabrication in cleanroom environments, optical characterization, building/modifying optical characterization tools, and test stations for fabricated devices. In addition to research, the applicant is expected to participate in the supervision of master's and doctoral students.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A PhD or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled by the time the employment decision is made.
  • The applicant should have experience in the field of semiconductor materials, optics, photonics, or related areas.

Meritorious

  • At the time of application, a maximum of three years since obtaining a PhD or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD.
  • A PhD in applied physics, optoelectronics, optics, or photonics.
  • Practical experience in process techniques for structuring semiconductors or dielectric materials, optical characterization methods, and building optical characterization tools.
  • Electromagnetic design and simulation methods.
  • Awareness of diversity and equality issues with a particular focus on gender equality.
  • Ability to collaborate.
  • Independence.
