Operations Engineer at VA SYD

Your Upcoming Role

The role of Operations Engineer is broad but also allows room for your expert competence in one or more areas. The positions we are currently recruiting for are as Operations Engineers with a focus on supporting pipeline network projects where you represent both the unit, the department, and VA SYD, so the role requires a helicopter perspective. You will be the spider in the web with many points of contact.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Project support regarding operational issues and technical standards
• Development of action plans in projects where there is a risk of operational disturbances or damage to the pipeline network
• Management of material issues
• Support cartographers in pipeline inquiries when contractors are digging in the ground and our pipelines are affected
• Coordination within your technical area towards member municipalities, other pipeline owners, and the rest of VA SYD to ensure operational reliability

The Distribution Department is responsible for distribution facilities for our water; pipeline networks, pump stations, open and closed reservoirs, pressure boosting stations, and reservoirs, as well as the Bulltofta waterworks.

The Coordination and Investigation unit consists of 20 colleagues who, in addition to the above-mentioned tasks, work with operational investigations, maintenance planning, and management of inflow water. We also investigate maintenance needs for ditches and ponds and manage their operations.

Your Experience

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree in civil engineering or equivalent in areas such as civil engineering, environmental engineering, or ecosystem technology
• A background as a project manager, investigator, or designer in water and wastewater issues
• It is also an advantage if you have worked as a contractor or have equivalent knowledge in another utility area
• A valid driver's license (B)
