We are now looking for a Legal Counsel – Integrity Officer who wants to influence tomorrow's climate-smart society and drive development forward.

As a Legal Counsel – Integrity Officer, you will be part of one of Sweden's largest corporate legal departments. Vattenfall's Nordic legal department consists of about 30 lawyers who provide legal advice to the executive management and other parts of the group. Within the legal department, you will belong to an international Integrity team that works with privacy and compliance-related issues. You will work closely with the Group Integrity Officer.

Integrity at Vattenfall means consistently upholding ethical principles, legal standards, and transparency across all our operations. The Integrity team works to ensure compliance with competition law, bribery and corruption, conflicts of interest, and to coordinate and be responsible for the whistleblower function within Vattenfall.

Your Responsibilities

  • Contribute to achieving Vattenfall's overall integrity-related goals in close collaboration with other team members on an international basis.
  • Ensure good compliance within the group by training staff and providing ongoing legal advice.
  • Participate in Vattenfall's work to develop and implement instructions, guidelines, and other governing documents, including in the areas of bribery, conflicts of interest, and other corruption as well as competition law.
  • Coordinate Vattenfall's global whistleblower function and actively participate in and lead investigations of reported incidents together with other internal units.
  • Monitor the development and practice of new and amended regulations and implement them.
  • Lead change processes to ensure a high maturity level for compliance across the entire group on an international basis.

Requirements

Qualifications and Personal Attributes

The ideal candidate has a law degree and has worked for several years in integrity/compliance-related roles at a law firm, competition authority, or in a similar in-house role at another company. You should have solid knowledge of competition law, anti-corruption, and preferably have experience working with investigations related to whistleblower cases. Experience in other compliance areas, such as GDPR, is a plus.

We place great importance on your personal attributes. You will have various points of contact in the role, so it is important that you enjoy collaborating with others and have an easy time building good relationships. To succeed in this role, we believe you are a structured person who can plan your work and create order even when circumstances change. Since you will be conducting training and acting as an ambassador for Integrity issues, you need to have strong communication skills. Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is a requirement for the position.
