JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Would you like to work with large datasets and contribute to ensuring access to official statistics? Then this could be the role for you.

With us, you will be part of the Register Unit, which consists of about 50 dedicated employees located in Solna and Örebro. The unit is divided into three sections responsible for data collection and register management in the areas of companies, individuals, and properties.

We are currently looking for a data manager for the section in Örebro, focusing on data collection.

As a data manager, you will work with implementation support related to the Register Unit's data collection, both for new and existing data sources in our shared production environment.

The work involves, among other things:

  • collaborating with external data providers for a structured reception of various datasets
  • working with technical integration and data loading
  • supporting data processing so that it becomes available for statistical production
  • participating in development work for an efficient reception of new data sources
  • contributing to requirements specification and further development of IT tools designated for data reception and register production.

The role may also include being an object specialist and working with register management, which includes collection, production, and provision of registers. You will primarily work in SQL and Python for data collection and register processing.

You will be part of a team that collectively is responsible for data collection and management of registers. In your work, you will closely collaborate with:

  • external data providers
  • statistical production units
  • IT teams

You will also follow the development of methods for data collection and contribute to environmental monitoring, which involves continuous learning and development of your skills in programming and data management.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is curious, flexible, collaborative, and solution-oriented. You have a good eye for detail while maintaining focus on the overall goal of contributing to reliable statistics and societal benefit.

You are comfortable communicating with various stakeholders and can explain complex issues clearly and pedagogically, both verbally and in writing. The role involves complex tasks and collaboration across organizational boundaries, which requires good communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

  • a university degree in economics, statistics, or equivalent
  • experience in programming in SQL, STATA, SAS, R, or Python
  • very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English

It is an advantage if you have:

  • previous work experience in data management
  • experience in investigative and/or project work

OTHER

The position is located at SCB in Örebro in the section for Property and General Registers. Travel to Solna may be necessary as needed. Depending on the organization's conditions, there is also the possibility to work some time from home.

The employment is permanent and usually starts with a six-month probationary period. The start date will be agreed upon.
