Then we believe you will thrive with us. The Swedish Statistics Authority SCB is the country's largest and foremost source of knowledge in statistics. Our statistics are used everywhere, at the kitchen table, in news reporting, and by decision-makers in parliament and government.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The section for individual registers, which belongs to the data department, is located in Örebro. The section is responsible for three areas: register production, SCB's register extracts, and SCB's environment for the delivery and processing of pseudonymized microdata (MONA). The position primarily involves working with register production, which largely involves collecting information about individuals from authorities and other organizations and producing registers tailored to the needs of statistics. Some of the registers produced include the Register of the Total Population (RTB), the Education Register (UTB), and the Labor Market Status of the Population (BAS).

The position primarily involves producing the BAS register every month and further developing the register in close collaboration with colleagues in the section and with people in other sections. In this work, you will mainly use SQL to process data.

Work with register production includes, among other things:

  • receiving and verifying input data
  • processing and adjusting data
  • producing registers based on statistical needs

The work involves many contacts with colleagues in other sections at SCB and, in some cases, also with people in other authorities.

To thrive with us, you need to enjoy collaborating with different competencies and working with large data sets.

QUALIFICATIONS

We want you to have:

  • A degree in social sciences where statistics and/or programming is included or another focus that the authority deems relevant for the position
  • Completed courses in statistics or data management, where programming and/or data management has been part of the curriculum
  • Experience in programming in SQL, SAS, STATA, R, Python, or similar
  • The ability to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English

We consider it an advantage if you have work experience in statistical production or working with large data sets.

OTHER

This position is located in the section for individual registers in Örebro. Depending on the operational conditions, there is also the opportunity to work some time from home.

The employment is permanent and usually begins with a six-month probationary period. The start date will be agreed upon.

With us, the competence and potential of all employees are important. We believe in an inclusive culture where we benefit from our diversity and differences. You who apply share our values: the courage to act, trust in each other's competence and goodwill, the ability to turn words into action, and each person's responsibility to contribute to the whole.

You apply by registering your CV in Swedish and answering a number of selection questions in our recruitment system, which you will access by clicking on Apply below. In this recruitment, we will place great importance on your personal qualities. If you have protected personal information, please contact the HR partner via SCB's switchboard.
