About the Department

The Regional Laboratory Medicine belongs to Sahlgrenska University Hospital, area 4, and has a clear coordination mission for the entire Västra Götaland region. The organization consists of laboratory medicine operations at Södra Älvsborg Hospital, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Hospitals in the West, and NU Healthcare.

The unit's laboratories are located at Södra Älvsborg Hospital in Borås and Skene, employing approximately 60 staff members (biomedical analysts, healthcare assistants, chemists, IT, and administrative personnel).

The smaller laboratory in Skene is staffed during the day, while the operation in Borås runs around the clock. Here, you will work in modern facilities within an automated high-tech laboratory.

Job Responsibilities

As a healthcare assistant in sample collection, you will work with taking blood samples from patients. We also receive urine samples and perform glucose tolerance tests.

About You

We are looking for someone who is a trained healthcare assistant. Experience in venipuncture and/or sample handling is an advantage.

You enjoy working with people. You have the ability to independently take responsibility for tasks while also having good collaboration skills and contributing to a positive work environment. You communicate fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written.

This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title of healthcare assistant in healthcare and social services.
