Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a support assistant for BmSS Finlandsvägen, which has a focus on psychiatry and is located in Tuve.

The accommodation is newly built and was completed in January 2022. Proximity to the city center and public transport makes it easy to get to and from the unit.

As a support assistant, you will work both independently and together with your colleagues to support the tenants in their home environment and contribute to a good and independent life as possible. Solo work occurs. The work with the tenants includes, among other things, organizing leisure activities on and off the premises, performing health and medical care interventions by delegation, collaborating in the professional network around the tenant, as well as assisting with cooking, laundry, cleaning, and personal hygiene. Together with the workgroup, you will establish, implement, and follow up on routines, action plans, and activity descriptions. This way, we all become better at understanding needs and providing the right support.

You will work on a schedule, and working hours are allocated to day and evening shifts as well as weekends. Some work time may occur in other activities. We plan the scheduled time in TimeCare.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a degree from the Health and Care Program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure Program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability area that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 university credits, or a combination that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and service for people with disabilities. The education must have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.

Communication is an important part of the job, which requires that you have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.

It is a requirement that you have at least two years of experience working within BmSS. Furthermore, at least two years of experience working with addiction and at least one year of experience working with individuals with psychiatric diagnoses is required. You should also have previous experience with social documentation.

Experience working based on LAB (Low Arousal Approach), MI (Motivational Interviewing), ESL (An Independent Life), AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), and Studio 3, as well as experience with delegation, is meritorious.
