Do you want to be part of our team/cluster based at one of our group homes?

As staff at our residence, you will be part of an engaged staff group, working to implement decisions within LSS and providing tenants with support and care in all everyday situations.

You will start from the individual's needs, desires, and wishes, and utilize the resources and abilities each individual has.

At the group home, on-call duty may be included in your schedule, and with us, you work on a scheduled basis every other weekend on a 37-hour contract.

Responsibilities

As a support assistant, it is important to motivate the individual to carry out activities, which becomes a crucial part of your daily work. The individual's daily life with tasks such as cleaning, laundry, cooking, shopping, leisure activities, among others, is a natural part of your work to assist in a motivating and pedagogical way. Low-affect responses are a central concept in your assignment.

You are committed to working systematically with clarifying pedagogy and social documentation. It is essential that collaboration occurs professionally with different occupational categories and the network around the individual. At the workplace, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and hygiene care is included.

Qualifications

You should have knowledge and experience working with people with disabilities in residential and/or day activities. It is also advantageous if you have experience and knowledge of working with clarifying pedagogy, challenging behavior, and alternative communication (AAC) such as sign language, pictures, and social stories.

Training related to disabilities such as AAC, low-affect responses, and programs like Inprint, Widget, among others, is desirable.

The work requires that you have a good demeanor, good collaboration skills, are open to changes, have a reflective approach, and work towards agreed goals.

As a person, you should be clear in your body language, have good physical and mental condition, and be solution-oriented. The work requires good knowledge of the Swedish language both spoken and written. Computer skills are important for pedagogical AAC and documentation.

Formal requirements:

• Approved high school education from the Child & Leisure program, Health and Care program with a focus on disabilities, or trained support assistant.
• Possession of a B driver's license.

What does our recruitment process look like?

• Selection and interviews take place continuously during the application period based on the needs of the operations.
• You must be able to provide at least two supervisor references from your most recent employers. If you have previously had employment in Kungälv Municipality, internal references will be taken.
• For those who are not citizens within the EU/EES area, a work permit is required; this does not apply to those with permanent residency. The work permit must be presented at the time of the interview. If you are a Swedish citizen, you must be able to present a passport or national ID card.
