About Passalen
Passalen is a non-profit organization that works for a more inclusive society that sees the potential in all children. We create inclusion for children and young people with disabilities who need support in organizing their leisure time, finding a friend, or trying out summer jobs, and we conduct activities that promote meetings between people.
Passalen is a union-affiliated organization and has locations in several places in Sweden. As an employee with us, you will develop and learn on the job while contributing to a more inclusive and socially sustainable society.
About Jubileumsparken
Jubileumsparken is located in Frihamnen in Gothenburg. Here you can visit the harbor bath, try sailing, canoeing, or visit the sauna. In the summer of 2023, a greener and larger park with more pools opened, and in 2024, the popular sauna was reopened.
Jubileumsparken is operated by the Passalen association through an IOP (idea-driven public partnership) between Passalen and the City of Gothenburg. Together with the City of Gothenburg, we take on the challenge of making Jubileumsparken an open and inclusive meeting place where everyone should feel welcome.
About the position as Sailing Instructor - Activity Leader
We are now looking for a person who can lead our sailing team from April to September. As a sailing instructor, you will help park visitors sail in our access dinghies. An access dinghy is designed for everyone to be able to sail in it – it is easy to sail and hard to capsize.
In spring and autumn, we have school sailing from Monday to Thursday. School classes come to try sailing. During the summer, we have sailing camps on weekdays for children and young people, as well as open sailing on weekends where everyone can come and try sailing, canoeing, and SUP.
You will, together with a sailing team, welcome visitors, show how sailing works, and help them while ensuring safety during their time there.
Examples of job tasks
· Set up and take down boats
· Instruct children and adults on how to sail
· Participate in sailing camps for children with sailing and other activities
· Drive a motorboat and ensure a safe sailing activity
· Clean and maintain the park
· Manage rentals and provide instructions for sailing, canoeing, and SUP (stand up paddle board)
In the role of activity leader, you are expected to be curious about meeting people who are different from yourself and ensure that all visitors/participants feel seen and included. You need to be self-driven and proactive as it often requires you to make your own decisions on-site. To succeed in the role, you also need to have the ability to work in a structured manner, be patient, and maintain calm in stressful situations.
As an activity leader, you also need to be able to plan and lead the work, where you have overall responsibility for guiding your colleagues and structuring your work shift. You also need to have good communication skills both within your work group and with visitors, participants, and guardians. In addition to these skills, you are expected to follow your scheduled times and enjoy collaborating with other staff on-site.
In the role, you are expected to be
- curious about meeting people who are different from yourself and care that everyone feels seen and included in social contexts
- self-driven and proactive, as it often requires you to make your own decisions on-site

As sailing is a water activity, you need to be able to swim at least 200 meters, including 50 meters on your back, as well as basic lifesaving skills. This will be checked before employment.
The most important thing is that you have curiosity and a willingness to learn. It is an advantage if you can work the entire period from April to September.
The person we are looking for will play a key role in the park, where in addition to sailing, they can step in where needed and help keep track of all the park's different areas during the days.
