Support Assistants for Short-Term Accommodation Björkstugan

We are looking for 2 support assistants for the short-term accommodation Björkstugan for children and young people in Lindesberg municipality. Are you the one we are looking for?

The target group at the accommodation is school-aged children and young people up to 21 years old. Organizationally, the accommodation is part of the Funktionsstöd operations within the Social Administration. Within Funktionsstöd, there are group and service housing, personal assistance, daily activities, and short-term accommodation for children and young people.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We create conditions for safety, personal development, and good living conditions by offering support and services to individuals. The individual's right to participation and co-determination is a cornerstone in the work with people with functional variations and permeates all operations. Through close work with the individual, there are high demands on staff's respect for the person's integrity and empowerment. Tasks may include support with personal care, regular household chores, support during leisure activities, and assistance in daily routines. The staff group consists of support assistants and caregivers. The positions include day/evening/weekend and on-call duties.

As a support assistant, you will work with your colleagues to support the children in their daily lives, contribute to a safe environment, and enable their development. We work with methods such as low-arousal approach (LAB) and clear pedagogical methods. You will assist and support the child in all situations such as personal care, meals, walks, play situations, and other daily activities. The work includes regular household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and washing dishes.

The work also includes being a contact person. This means you will have contact and collaboration with schools, social services, and other networks, as well as actively working with implementation plans and continuous documentation.

Working hours are according to a schedule distributed over daytime, evening, weekend, and sleeping on-call shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education in a caring profession, such as nursing assistant or caregiver, or equivalent education, such as child and leisure studies.
• Knowledge and experience of working with the target group of children with neuropsychiatric disabilities.
• Driving license B for manual transmission is a requirement as travel occurs in the position.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
• University or college education as a social worker, special educator, or another equivalent education is an advantage.
• Experience with low-arousal approach (LAB) is also an advantage.
