About the Position

We are now seeking a leisure teacher who can contribute to the development of our operations in line with the school's governing documents. The position includes planning and conducting teaching in the leisure center, which includes break and outdoor activities. The assignment also involves creating conditions for development, offering an inspiring environment, promoting social contacts, play, and learning. At Brunnsskolan, we have a lead teacher in the leisure center who leads the professional development of the leisure staff. Our pedagogical starting point is to adapt the activities to our students' needs, ages, interests, and conditions.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to work in a wonderful and professional team that takes pride in its mission and constantly strives to develop together towards set goals. You will work alongside educators and conduct leisure pedagogical activities during school hours. In the afternoon, the operations transition to leisure activities.

Examples of Responsibilities:

  • work with children's and guardians' participation and influence
  • use methods and approaches that lead to the best possible achievement for each child
  • plan and implement the educational activities in the leisure center and work in the school during school hours
  • together with your colleagues, be responsible for the development of the leisure center operations
  • actively work to meet students where they are and strive to provide them with the best conditions to succeed in school and in the leisure center
  • ensure that all students feel safe and eager to learn

About the Workplace

Brunnsskolan is a well-functioning school with grades F-6, with about 460 students and around 60 staff. We have four leisure centers at the school and have good results regarding knowledge and safety. The school is attractive and has a nice location close to nature, parks, and transportation. Within the Preschool and Primary School Administration, approximately 4,530 employees work. We meet the young people of Örebro from their first day in preschool to their last day in primary school. Qualifications

To thrive as a teacher with us, it is important that you are skilled at inspiring and leading activities and have good knowledge of the curriculum and creative thinking. You have good knowledge of children's learning and experience in school and leisure activities. We also see that you can collaborate well with others and contribute to a calm and safe environment in the school while taking responsibility for your tasks. Furthermore, you are skilled and interested in building trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. You are a warm, responsible, and clear educator with an inclusive approach and good communication skills. You also enjoy being part of continuous development work with your colleagues. We see that you are a clear leader who likes children and, with warmth and firmness, wants to be a part of the children's entire day. You master the Swedish language well enough to communicate with students and other staff. Additionally, you have good computer skills and can document what the operations require in writing.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • teaching certification with authorization to teach in leisure centers, or an equivalent degree that qualifies for teaching certification

Desirable:

  • experience working as a leisure teacher
  • experience in break activities in the form of movement
  • experience working as a preschool teacher
  • basic training in ICDP (Guiding Interaction)
  • experience working as a leader

Scope and Start Date

Employment type: permanent position

Employment rate: 100%

Start date: immediately or by agreement

Additional Information

Teaching certification with specified authorization must be attached to the application, or an equivalent degree certificate that qualifies for certification.
