About the position

The Swedish Agency for Cultural Analysis has been tasked by the government to propose how reliable and relevant national statistics on the economic values of the cultural and creative industries (CCI) can be produced and published continuously. In light of this, we are seeking an investigator with strong knowledge of business data and economic statistics. The position involves working with a project group to ensure the implementation of the assignment.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

  • Contacting data providers, coordinating a reference group, and collaborating with relevant authorities and industry organizations.
  • Developing a proposal for how companies in the cultural and creative sectors should be defined and delimited.
  • Creating a plan for what statistics should be produced and published continuously.
  • Documenting the investigation's proposals in a memorandum to be submitted to the government.

All tasks are carried out in collaboration with a project group and in dialogue with the agency's management. It may also be relevant to participate in other ongoing investigation projects at the agency.

The position is a special fixed-term employment on a full-time basis with immediate start and ongoing, but no later than October 15, 2026.

The workplace is located in fine office premises at the World Culture Museum at Korsvägen in central Gothenburg.

Travel may occur in the position.

About you

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has

  • an academic degree
  • documented professional experience in investigative work as well as work with statistics and register data on companies
  • excellent ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is advantageous if you have

  • good knowledge of cultural and creative industries
  • experience in working in and leading projects
  • experience of working in a government agency.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Personal qualities

To succeed in your work, you need to be meticulous and analytical, as well as have excellent communication skills in both speech and writing. You should be responsible, flexible, and able to independently plan and execute your tasks on time and with high quality. Good collaboration skills and openness to different perspectives and viewpoints are valued.

About the Swedish Agency for Cultural Analysis

Cultural Analysis is a government agency tasked with evaluating, analyzing, and reporting the effects of proposals and implemented measures in the cultural sector. We are also tasked with assisting the government with data and recommendations to develop national cultural policy. We are a statistics-responsible agency with responsibility for most of the official statistics in the cultural sector.

In addition to the national assignment, the agency has been commissioned by the Nordic Council of Ministers to run Cultural Analysis Nordic - a Nordic knowledge center for cultural policy. This assignment includes promoting and coordinating cultural statistics in the Nordic countries.

We are a small agency with 14 employees with academic backgrounds in various fields who work closely together.
