Summer Temporary Position as Treatment Assistant at SiS
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. SiS LVM home Älvgården in Hedemora receives men with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse, in combination with mental health issues.
Job Description
Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer temporary position as a treatment assistant at SiS.
The goal of your assignment is to motivate our young people to adopt new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will help ensure that the routines on the department function as they should. You play a significant role in providing stability and security for our young people and clients, and you are responsible for the foundation of daily life, such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You contribute to maintaining safety at the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building good treatment relationships and help ensure that our young people and clients receive the security and safety they need to break old habits. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment educators and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.
The working hours are awake night shifts according to the schedule.
As a summer temporary employee at SiS, you will undergo a tailored introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.
Qualifications
You should have:
- A minimum of 2 years of post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
- Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS care.
- Driver's license B.
- Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written.
Meritorious
- Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., probation officer.
- Education in health and care.
- Experience working with our target group (e.g., substance abuse care, youth care, etc.).
Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathy, and the ability to create good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues.

Exceptions to the requirement for at least two years of post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
We want to reward you for helping us during the summer period; therefore, those who work full-time as monthly employed summer temporary staff for more than four weeks will receive a bonus. Employment
The position is a summer temporary position.
Possible hourly employment during spring 2026 and summer temporary position during June-August 2026.
Start date by agreement.
Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
