Your Responsibilities

Social workers for children and youth are responsible for handling child welfare cases for ages 0-18 (sometimes up to 21 years). The handling may include both receiving and assessing reports of concern, investigations, and follow-ups on interventions. Social workers are led by a senior social worker and a unit manager.

We look forward to continuing to work with the transition based on the new Social Services Act, which means becoming a more preventive, accessible, equal, and knowledge-based social service. In your role as a social worker with us, you will play an important part in the transition work and our renewed working methods.

The tasks are performed both independently and in collaboration, both internally and with external partners. In this role, there are short decision-making paths where you can always seek support from your manager, team leader, and closest colleagues.

As a social worker at IFO Children and Youth, you will work with engaged colleagues, develop, and work in Sweden's most important job.

Since one of our colleagues has moved to another unit within the organization, we are looking for a social worker for a permanent position.

Your Profile

  • You are a qualified social worker.
  • Previous experience in public authority work is an advantage.
  • As the tasks involve ongoing documentation, good knowledge of the Social Services Act (SoL) is required, as well as the ability to handle digital work tools.
  • Experience with the Lifecare system is an advantage.
  • A valid driver's license (B) is required.

To succeed in this position, you need to be a secure and stable person with good self-awareness who can distinguish between the personal and the professional. You also need to be skilled at planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work effectively and meeting set deadlines. Since the position involves working with people who may be in difficult social and vulnerable situations, you are expected to show judgment in statements, actions, and decisions, as well as being accommodating in your interactions and having good collaboration skills.

The social sector is the largest of four sectors in Leksand Municipality. The sector is responsible for the care of the elderly and people with disabilities, social psychiatry, health and medical care (HSR), individual and family care (IFO), outpatient care, and public authority work, consisting of about 550 permanent employees and 200 temporary staff.
