In our daily work, we always carry our core values with us. With them, we strive to be present for all residents, communicate openly and respectfully, and continuously develop both personally and professionally.

About the Position
The Child and Family Unit within the Social Services in Gagnef Municipality is now looking for a Foster Home Secretary who wants a central role in creating safe and sustainable everyday lives for children who need extra support.
We are in a phase where we want to build a safe, stable, and sustainable workgroup, and we are looking for someone who wants to be part of that journey.
Here, the work climate and community are important cornerstones. Therefore, we seek employees who, in addition to contributing their expertise, also value collaboration, care, good collegial support, and take care of our shared work environment. Together, we take responsibility and create a work environment where both children, families, and employees can feel safe.
Job Responsibilities
As a Foster Home Secretary in Gagnef Municipality, you work to create safe and sustainable everyday lives for children who need extra support. You maintain ongoing contact with foster homes, conduct home visits, provide support, guidance, and supervision in their assignments. The work is done in close collaboration with the child's social worker and other important people around the child, and together you ensure that the child's needs are always at the center.
The role of the Foster Home Secretary is varied and includes recruitment, investigation, and matching of foster homes, emergency homes, contact families, and contact persons. You are responsible for contracts, compensation, and documentation, and you follow the families through the entire process, from the first contact to long-term support. The work involves travel and home visits in various environments, and you need to manage both planned and urgent situations with flexibility and good judgment. We are in the midst of transitioning to the new social services law and developing our work towards more promoting and preventive measures, supported by a project manager. You will have access to both close supervision and external guidance. As part of a smaller workplace, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of foster care and strengthen support for our foster homes.
You are Offered
- 39-hour workweek and flexible hours
- Health and wellness allowance of 1500 SEK per year
- Vacation exchange
- Extra vacation days when you turn 40 and 50
- For those employed for at least 12 months, there is also the opportunity to purchase an annual public transport pass for Dalatrafik
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with experience in social work with children and families, preferably within foster care, authority exercise, or parental support. You will meet people in various life situations, often in moments that require both safety and sensitivity. The role therefore requires that you can support adults in their parenting even when it becomes difficult and that you can set boundaries while creating safety and trust. You are relationship-building, analytical, and have an easy time seeing the big picture and discussing difficult situations in a respectful manner. You are confident in yourself and can handle meetings with individuals, families, and groups in a professional and stable manner.
Working with children and families can involve rapid changes and unpredictable situations that require interventions outside regular working hours, making flexibility and problem-solving skills important traits for the role. You need to be able to remain calm when it is needed the most and make well-founded assessments even under pressure. To succeed in the role, you need to be able to plan, structure, and prioritize your work so that deadlines, legal requirements, and quality standards are met. The child perspective is an obvious part of your working method, characterized by humility, understanding, and professionalism.
You express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing and have a good ability to document clearly and legally. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of NPF, mental health issues, working with children from other cultures, recruitment of foster homes, BBIC, A Home to Grow In, or Lifecare, or other complementary methods that strengthen the organization's competence.
You must have a Swedish social work degree and a B driver's license as driving is part of the job.
Conditions
The position is permanent at 100% with start date by agreement. Interviews may take place during the application period.
