We are now looking for a deacon who wants to develop together in a parish with a big heart. We have three districts; Mora, Sollerön/Venjan, and Våmhus, that collaborate and strengthen each other. The hospital church is also included.

Job Responsibilities

As a deacon, you will work with spiritual care, offer social meeting places, lead discussion groups and devotions, and participate in worship services. Currently, we work with conversations and walks focusing on existential health, a support group for survivors, men's breakfast, and dinners for young adults. In the parish, we also have a work-integrated social enterprise that gives people far from the labor market a new chance at work. Our focus is to empower people, and we run a second-hand store, perform workshop tasks, manage catering, etc.

In the establishment of the deacon center, there is a rectory from the 1600s with a lovely park environment adjacent to the Vasaloppet finish line. Here, we want to see a center full of life where both joy and sorrow can meet in a caring and uplifting environment. The social enterprise is an important part of the parish's diaconal work and needs to be integrated and developed as a natural part of the deacon center.

There is a great opportunity to influence the content of the position and contribute to our activities with your specific skills and interests. There is also the possibility to combine with some time as a hospital deacon or leadership as a district manager.

Your main placement is in Mora, but work occurs throughout the parish.

Qualifications

You are an ordained deacon in the Church of Sweden. Previous experience in diaconal work is meritorious. Personal qualities are highly valued.

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in people and who is passionate about making a difference. You are proactive, can work independently, and want to be a team player. You are solution-oriented, see opportunities, and create inclusive communities. You are secure, structured, and have good endurance in your work.

A requirement for the position is that you have good language skills in Swedish, where you can express yourself well in both speech and writing. A driver's license is meritorious.
