Job Description:

Dormsjöskolan is a home for care and living (HVB) for boys aged 7–23.

We are located in Southern Dalarna, just north of Hedemora, and operate our own independent school. Children and young people live in five beautifully situated houses, close to a lovely swimming lake and exciting forests. Here, there are opportunities for fun activities, quiet moments, and supportive adults to lean on.

Target Group:

Boys with neurodevelopmental disorders as well as social and emotional difficulties.

We are licensed to care for 28 boys, and the license covers placements supported by the Social Services Act (SoL), the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU), and the Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS).

Description of Duties:

The foundation of our working method is to create predictability and routines in a structured environment by giving the day, week, and year a clear, recurring structure.

We map the children's/young people's abilities and difficulties. This mapping and the care plan form the basis for an implementation plan tailored to the child's/young person's needs.

The work primarily involves therapeutic and motivational work for the child/young person. Personal care is also a common task.

The aim is to help children and young people towards an independent life with a functional school attendance.

The therapeutic work is individually adapted based on each child's/young person's needs and prerequisites.

Social skills training, anger management, low-arousal approach, comic strip conversations, social stories, and visual picture support are some of the methods we use.

We are looking for someone who is creative, enjoys physical activity, is passionate about working with children and young people with special needs, and is skilled at building trusting and good relationships.

The job requires you to be secure, solution-focused, stress-resistant, and have great patience.

Education: Education as a Social Treatment Pedagogue or other equivalent education is desirable.

In the event of employment, an extract from the criminal register and the suspicion register is required.
