The Family Therapy Unit is a regional specialist unit within BUP Dalarna that works with treatment. In addition to the Family Therapy Unit, BUP Dalarna has five outpatient clinics, an eating disorder unit, day care, an inpatient care department with an acute team, and One Path In.

We now wish to strengthen our team with a social worker with a particular interest in treatment work with infants and young children and systemic work with children and their families.

The Family Therapy Unit is an outpatient clinic for infant psychiatry, ages 0-4, focusing on attachment and interaction treatment. Families often come to us on referral from another healthcare provider, usually adult psychiatry or child or maternal health care. At the clinic, we work from a parent and child perspective where various forms of psychotherapeutic orientation and competence are represented. Currently, we have 8.5 staff members consisting of psychologists, psychotherapists, social workers, medical secretaries, and a department head. We also have access to hospital teachers.

The unit also offers psychotherapeutic interventions in the form of Intensive Family Therapy (IFT), a more intensive and in-depth family treatment than what can be provided within BUP's regular outpatient care. This treatment is team-based and includes conversations integrated with practical activities where opportunities are provided to apply the content of the conversations in everyday situations. The target group is families with children/youth aged 4-17 who have not been able to benefit from treatment within BUP's outpatient clinic.

The job responsibilities include performing qualified interaction work with children and their caregivers. It also includes making qualified child psychiatric assessments based on the current symptom picture and the interaction with primary caregivers. Psychotherapeutic parent conversations are also included. We are also conducting ongoing development work within our clinical areas.

You will collaborate and plan interventions together with colleagues to offer our patients the best possible care. The work as a social worker is challenging, stimulating, and varied, providing the opportunity to work creatively with children and young people based on all diagnoses in child psychiatry in complex cases. We work at the clinic in teams. The job responsibilities also include collaboration with healthcare neighbors.

We are looking for a licensed health and medical care social worker with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare and who has a strong commitment to children and their upbringing conditions. Experience in treatment work with infants and young children is an advantage. We wish that you have basic psychotherapy training.

You who apply need to have the patient in focus, a salutogenic perspective, and good collaboration skills. The work requires that you can handle emotionally stressful situations, are responsible, and are interested in working with families with complex life/family situations. You have an interest in participating in the clinic's development work. As a person, you are attentive, engaged, and enjoy working in a team. Great emphasis is placed on collaboration skills and personal suitability.
