Summer Temporary Position as Treatment Assistant at SiS LVM Home Älvgården

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. Working with us at SiS will be an exciting challenge. SiS LVM Home Älvgården in Hedemora receives men with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse, in combination with mental health issues.

Job Description

Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer temporary position as a treatment assistant at SiS.

The goal of your assignment is to motivate our clients to adopt new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will help ensure that the routines on the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and safety of our clients, and you are responsible for the basics of daily life such as cleaning, cooking, and more. You will contribute to maintaining safety in the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building good treatment relationships and help ensure that our clients receive the security and safety they need to break old habits. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment educators and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job can often be demanding but is also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

The working hours are according to a schedule of day/evening and weekends.

As a summer temporary employee at SiS, you will undergo a tailored introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.

Qualifications

  • At least a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant field.
  • Driver's license (B)
  • Good Swedish language skills in both spoken and written form

Meritorious

  • Education in health and care
  • Experience working with our target group (e.g., substance abuse care, youth care, etc.)
  • Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., correctional officer

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, a high level of empathy, and the ability to create good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues.

We want to reward you for helping us during the summer period; therefore, if you work full-time as a monthly employed temporary worker for more than four weeks, you will receive a bonus. *Exceptions to the requirement for at least a two-year post-secondary education can be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).

Employment

The position is a summer temporary position.

Possible hourly employment during spring 2026 and summer temporary position from June to August 2026.

Start date by agreement.

Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
