Medical Secretary at Region Gävleborg

We are a team of 20 regular medical secretaries and a few substitutes who staff and support several units within Region Gävleborg. Our area of operation covers emergency care, internal medicine, cardiology, and paramedicine. The medical secretary unit in Hudiksvall consists of 14 medical secretaries working for the areas of internal medicine, cardiology, and paramedicine.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As part of our team, you will gain valuable experience in a stimulating work environment where we work together to ensure effective and qualitative healthcare documentation. We have an ongoing effort in the county to transition administrative tasks from other professional categories to the medical secretary area.

As a medical secretary, you will work with:

• healthcare documentation and registration
• diagnosis and procedure coding
• quality work with monitoring that registration occurs in our various systems
• manual and digital mail and referral handling, as well as preparation for scanning
• usual tasks associated with being a medical secretary.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is service-oriented and positive, has the desire to learn new things, and wants to be part of our team. The work requires good ability to work independently, teamwork skills, personal suitability, high flexibility, and a service mindset.

In the role of medical secretary, you should:

• be a trained medical secretary, healthcare administrator, or physician's secretary
• have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
• have good computer skills.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have experience with our healthcare administrative system, Cosmic. Previous experience in the role is also advantageous but not a requirement.
