Job Responsibilities

As a postdoctoral researcher in industrial economics, you will spend most of your time on research, which includes initiating, conducting, and reporting research, applying for and obtaining research funding, and supervising doctoral students. A central part of your employment is to contribute to increasing external research funding, support the implementation of approved projects, increase scientific production, and strengthen collaboration with the surrounding community. Part of your working time may also be dedicated to teaching, including developing, planning, conducting, and evaluating courses at basic and advanced levels. The courses are offered on campus and digitally and are conducted in Swedish and English. Your workplace is at the University of Gävle, where most of your working time will be allocated.

Qualifications

The eligibility requirements for the position are a doctoral degree in industrial economics, or in another subject that the employer assesses as equivalent, with a specialization in organizational sustainability, circular transformation processes, or stakeholder engagement and ecosystem perspectives. You must have completed your doctoral degree no later than the start of the employment and no more than three years before the application deadline.

  • Organizational sustainability refers to the development and analysis of strategies for implementing sustainability in organizations in various contexts, with a particular focus on business models and supply chains.
  • Circular transformation processes refer to the development and implementation of new business models and supply chains that support the transition to a circular economy.
  • Stakeholder engagement and ecosystem perspectives refer to the development of effective collaborative solutions and the analysis of the role of collaboration among different actors in ecosystem-leading organizations.

In addition, you should have:

  • The ability to initiate, conduct, and report research of high scientific quality.
  • The ability to seek and obtain external funding for research and to drive your own research projects.
  • The ability to collaborate within relevant national or international research networks and with the surrounding community.
  • The ability to work independently and take your own initiatives.
  • The ability to collaborate and create good relationships internally and externally.
  • The ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience in supervising doctoral students.

In the appointment, consideration will also be given to how the applicant can strengthen and complement the department's research in the subject area.
