The rehabilitation medicine section is part of the neurology, rehabilitation medicine, memory disorders, and geriatrics area at Skåne University Hospital (Sus). Rehabilitation medicine offers interdisciplinary and internationally accredited rehabilitation for adults with activity limitations due to spinal cord injuries, acquired brain injuries including stroke, multiple disabilities due to diseases and/or injuries within the circulatory system and musculoskeletal system, chronic neurological diseases, and residual conditions after polio.

In rehabilitation medicine, person-centered care is practiced. In collaboration with the patient, relatives, and the team, an individual rehabilitation plan is developed.

In addition to responsibility for specialized rehabilitation within Sus's catchment area, we are a resource unit within the southern healthcare region for rehabilitation for individuals with acquired brain injuries and complex conditions. For certain patient groups, we have national assignments, where rehabilitation medicine at Sus is one of four centers in the country tasked with providing national highly specialized care (NHV) for spinal cord injury rehabilitation and one of three centers in the country tasked with providing NHV for residual conditions after polio.

We collaborate with the universities in Malmö and Lund and welcome students during basic and further education. Within the organization, multidisciplinary research is conducted linked to several research groups.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of resident physician with us, you will follow an educational plan that you create together with your supervisor and study director upon employment. The specialist training takes place within the framework of the residency program with your own supervisor, and you will receive an individually tailored residency plan with great opportunities to adapt your education. The position also includes teaching medical students.

Skåne University Hospital is located in Malmö (Sus Malmö), Lund (Sus Lund), and Höör (Orup Hospital). Within rehabilitation medicine, your main placement will be at Orup Hospital and in Lund. Some work may occur in Malmö. Travel may also be required as we have consulting services throughout Region Skåne.

Working hours are scheduled between 08:00 and 16:30 with flexible agreements.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed physician with permission to practice in Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. Previous experience in rehabilitation medicine or relevant specialties is considered an asset. We also prefer that you have good knowledge of the Office suite.

We believe you are a person who enjoys making decisions and can act as a team leader when necessary. You are interested in leadership and find it easy to collaborate. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
