Make a Difference. Every Day.

The Internal Medicine Section at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) is a large and dynamic unit characterized by innovation, creativity, and development. The section includes, among other things, Hospital at Home, intermediate care (IMA), and Sweden's largest diagnostic center. In addition, there are over 130 inpatient beds across 8 departments, along with day care, outpatient services, and consultancy in both Malmö and Lund. The care is strongly characterized by a generalist approach and is conducted in close collaboration with emergency care, intensive care, and other related specialties. As such, the section plays a central role in the hospital. Through strategic work with Wise Clinical Choices, person-centered care, and generalism, we lead the development of Swedish internal medicine. The operations ensure that Sus meets the population's expectations for modern and innovative care of the highest quality.

Within the area of operations, there is an active research environment linked to major public diseases, which also connects to the clinical mission. This provides excellent opportunities for academic development. We place great value on seeing the whole patient and on active collaboration across traditional specialty boundaries. We are currently expanding our operations and are therefore looking for new colleagues who want to be part of a development effort and help lead internal medicine care forward.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for two specialists for the Internal Medicine Section in Lund.

From a care level perspective, the work in the section spans from intensive care-near intermediate care to investigation and treatment in an outpatient context. In hospitalist-oriented wards, there is an opportunity to challenge the traditional image of internal medicine. In Sus's Hospital at Home, the inpatient care concept is challenged by offering hospital care at home, and in mobile teams, we reduce the need for inpatient care in collaboration with primary care.

The breadth allows for profiling towards different forms of internal medicine care. What unites the assignments is a classic internal medicine perspective, a holistic view of the patient's needs. The goal is personalized care based on parameters such as previous illnesses, functional level, and the patient's expectations. We choose wisely.

As a specialist physician, you will be part of a team where you are proactive and work with a person-centered approach. Working as a specialist within the section also means participating in a team-based improvement and development effort. The goal is to provide the population of the catchment area with good and accessible care. The assignment includes responsibility for staffing common on-call lines (primary on-call, house on-call, backup on-call, and hospital at home).

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying are a licensed physician with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Furthermore, you have specialist competence in internal medicine, with or without subspecialty, or another equivalent specialist competence. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are a requirement. You should have completed or planned a course in clinical supervision.

We prefer that you have clinical skill and independence within internal medicine. Leadership/development and education, such as unit responsibility, educational director, or equivalent, are also meritorious. Competence in intermediate care, training in Point Of Care Ultrasound, or experience working in mobile teams is also considered meritorious. Interest in Hospital at Home will be prioritized.

We are looking for someone who is attentive, reliable, and has the ability to collaborate in a team. Creativity and curiosity about the task of developing the future of internal medicine are very valuable traits for us. We place great emphasis on a person-centered approach and personal suitability.

At a university hospital unit, it is required that physicians have pedagogical experience and education. This can be acquired through supervision of, for example, nursing and medical students as well as physicians in training and as co- or main supervisors of doctoral candidates. Clearly describe in your application completed or planned pedagogical courses, experience in supervision, and teaching at various levels.

When you submit your application, you must fill out the questionnaire, which must be complete and correctly filled out. You also need to attach your documents digitally; see under Other what documents you need to send. For us to assess your application, it must be complete.

In this recruitment, we are working with ongoing selection. We warmly welcome your application!

OTHER

In addition to the electronic application, applicants should attach a medical license and specialist competence certificate. For the position of assistant chief physician and chief physician, a certificate of employment must also be attached. For chief physician positions, a diploma regarding disputation, a certificate of associate professorship, and a publication list (divided into original publications, review articles, and other publications) may also be required. NOTE! These digital documents are forwarded for expert assessment, so they must accompany your application. Non-Nordic dissertations must be attached to the application and assessed by the Swedish Council for Higher Education. If you have any questions, please email: [email protected]
