We are now looking for an enthusiastic and proactive physician for a combined position as unit manager and senior physician!

The Neuro/stroke section is a unit within the specialty medicine area (VO) 2. The section consists of an inpatient ward with 14 single rooms and a monitoring unit with five places. We also run a dynamic day care operation, NDV, adjacent to the inpatient care. The outpatient clinic has a broad neurological focus with specialized nurse clinics for Parkinson's, MS, ALS, epilepsy, brain tumors, and stroke. The section consists of four resident doctors and eight specialists.

VO Specialty Medicine 2 is one of two medical areas at Helsingborg Hospital and includes the areas of lung/gastro/endoscopy, neuro/stroke, infection, and rheumatology, as well as dieticians, social workers, and secretaries within the medical field. Currently, we have three wards and several outpatient clinics within the specialty.

Specialty medicine is the largest area at Helsingborg Hospital. The operation is characterized by diversity and high competence, and we strive to integrate research and education into our work. RESPONSIBILITIES

The Neuro/stroke section is a stable section with several specialists and resident doctors, many of whom are actively engaged in research.

In your role as a senior physician, you will primarily work in the ward and outpatient clinic, but you will also act as a consultant within the specialty area to other units in the hospital. In your role, you will work with assessments, treatment, investigations, education, and supervision. Together with other employees, you will develop the content of care, and there are good opportunities for personal professional development. In your work, you will use Melior as your data journal system.

We welcome medical students from basic education, and with your experience and competence, you will contribute to the supervision of all levels of training doctors. Regarding on-call duties, you will be part of the neurology on-call line during the day on weekends. There is a regional stroke on-call service available 24/7.

As a medical unit manager, you have both strategic and operational responsibilities. This includes responsibility for personnel, operations, and finances. You will take the initiative to lead changes to continuously develop and improve the operation. In your leadership, you see employees as your greatest asset and view the operation from a holistic perspective, where you plan and organize as well as follow up on decisions and results. You will be part of the extended management group of the specialty area and hold medical management responsibility (MLA) for the section towards the area manager. You will have good support and collegiality in the group of medical unit managers for all specialties within internal medicine.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed physician with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare and who is a specialist in neurology. You have language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's language scale. Furthermore, you have also worked as a neurologist in both outpatient and inpatient care.

For this position, you need to be proactive, attentive, and empathetic. You work solution-focused, have good collaboration skills, and can inspire and lead your employees. Additionally, you are a good communicator who can engage others in the team, and as a person, you easily adapt to different circumstances. Since we are keen to find the right person for the position, we will place great emphasis on personal suitability. A background check will be conducted before any potential employment.
