Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a support assistant for the daily activity Mariagården, located a stone's throw from Munkebäckstorget in Kålltorp.

Mariagården is a daily activity for people with autism and complex needs. Challenging and outwardly aggressive behaviors may occur. We are looking for someone with experience working with methods such as low-arousal responses, clarifying pedagogy, and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC).

As a support assistant, you will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and following up on action plans and operational plans, which form the basis for ensuring individually tailored support of good quality. Together with colleagues and support pedagogues, you will participate in planning, implementation, and development of the activities. The work requires you to be attentive, patient, and use your pedagogical skills to support and guide users based on their individual needs.

In this role, you will collaborate with users, colleagues, relatives, guardians, and external actors, always with the user in focus.

The position is scheduled for daytime, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

We are looking for qualified personnel who have graduated as support assistants, from the child and leisure program with a focus on social or educational work. The care and nursing program with a specialization in disabilities, which includes at least 200 YH credits, 120 higher education credits, or a combination that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

Communication is an important part of the job, and you therefore need to master the Swedish language in speech and writing, which means a requirement for passing grades in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.

Furthermore, experience working with people with autism and complex needs, as well as experience or knowledge of low-arousal responses, is required for the position.

It is an advantage if you have a driver's license and driving experience. It is also advantageous if you have good knowledge of IT, social documentation, and pedagogical aids, as well as experience with alternative and augmentative communication (AAC).

We place great emphasis on personal competencies and are looking for someone who is stable and secure in their working methods. You remain calm in pressured situations, can handle multiple demands simultaneously, and make well-founded decisions with the users' best interests in mind.

You are flexible and can easily adapt to changing conditions and new information. At the same time, you are independent and can act on your own within the framework of your assignment.

You are responsible, take both your own and shared tasks seriously, and ensure that the work is carried out correctly. Furthermore, you are structured and plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively while following up to ensure it is completed.
