Pharmacist Position at the Pharmaceutical Center in Region Västerbotten

The Pharmaceutical Center is Region Västerbotten's expert body in pharmaceutical matters, promoting evidence-based, patient-safe, and cost-effective medication use and supply within the region. Employees at the Pharmaceutical Center are located in Umeå at Norrlands University Hospital (NUS), in Skellefteå at Skellefteå Hospital, in Lycksele at Lycksele Hospital, and at the Rural Medical Center in Storuman.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Have you, as a pharmacist (pharmacy technician or pharmacist), considered what it would be like to work closely with patient care? Now is your chance to apply for one of our two available positions where you will have the opportunity to work alongside healthcare professionals regarding medications!

Your responsibilities will include patient-centered pharmaceutical work at the Orthopedic Department at NUS and medication supply at the Pharmaceutical Center, each at 50%.

You will participate in the work at the Orthopedic Department where your tasks will involve preparing and organizing medications, ordering and restocking medications in the medication room, maintaining order, and providing pharmaceutical expertise on various issues, such as medication shortages and deficiencies. As we grow, our work methods will also evolve in dialogue with healthcare, a process in which you will be involved. Our goal is for pharmacists to work as an integrated part of the teams in the healthcare departments we staff, aiming to enhance patient safety by contributing pharmaceutical expertise and allowing nurses to be more present for patients.

In the second part of the position, you will collaborate across the entire Pharmaceutical Center and work on administrative tasks related to the region's medication supply efforts. The medication supply should contribute to a patient-safe and cost-effective medication provision. Region Västerbotten must have access to the right medications when and where they are needed. The tasks will depend on experience and the needs of the organization. We continuously shape our work with a focus on the needs of healthcare. Your closest colleagues will include pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses, and logistics technicians.

Digital meetings and contacts, as well as travel within the region, will occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a licensed pharmacist or pharmacy technician. It is advantageous if you have several years of professional experience. Experience in patient-centered pharmaceutical work and/or experience in preparing and organizing medications is a plus. Fluent Swedish, at least at the C1 level according to the Council of Europe’s scale, is a requirement.
