The Orthopedic Department in Skellefteå has 16 care places, and we work cross-professionally in nursing and medical care teams around patients aged 18 to 100+. We have varied tasks and are a care department that operates both planned and acute services year-round. We have a high patient flow, which means that patients are cared for both short and long term.

We are a pleasant workgroup where we care for each other with an open climate between colleagues and managers. We work in teams with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, doctors, nursing assistants, and nurses. A workplace where we constantly work to improve and maintain a good working environment. We have a structured approach with routines where everyone knows what they should do or can rely on the written procedures. At the same time, there is openness to try new paths. Here, you will practice making your own decisions, which gives you great opportunities to develop your professional role as well as personal development.

We offer a schedule according to the desired schedule model with rotating shifts, aiming to work 3 out of 9 weekends. We are currently working on a new structured onboarding process, which gives you the best possible start as a nurse in orthopedics. We adapt the length of the onboarding according to your skills and preferences. After onboarding, you will be assigned a mentor.

You will have the opportunity to attend our own orthopedic training as well as internal training at the clinic and the introductory year for newly graduated nurses.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe.

You work closely with the patient, and your work includes identifying risks, assessing, addressing, and evaluating the patient's various nursing needs. We work in fast care chains where mobilization and return to previous life are pursued quickly after surgery. As a nurse with us, you perform nursing tasks for an acute care department, such as medication management, medical technical equipment, patient and family conversations, and planning.

In the department, you will have the opportunity to learn a lot about orthopedics, trauma care, fracture surgery, and managing acute illnesses. Here, we care for a wide variety of patients, treating more than just fractures. This means that as a nurse, you will gain incredible breadth regarding all types of care and diseases.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a licensed nurse with an interest in orthopedics and emergency care. You look forward to a wide variety of patients, a breadth of tasks, and varying intensity.
