The Occupational Health Service within Region Västerbotten is an internal health service tasked with being an expert resource regarding work environment and rehabilitation, at the individual, group, and organizational levels.

The Occupational Health Service has a consultative role in developing health-promoting workplaces, preventing ill health, assessing work ability, and providing support in occupational rehabilitation efforts.

Within the Occupational Health Service, company doctors, occupational nurses, ergonomists, psychologists, behavioral scientists, wellness coordinators, and executive assistants work together. The Occupational Health Service is a pleasant workplace with a good work environment.

We are now looking for a company doctor to be based in Umeå. As a company doctor with us, you will work in a team to create a sustainable work environment for everyone in the region. The company doctor contributes medical expertise to the team and plays an important role in occupational medical assessments at all levels.

For those who do not yet have the desired specialty, there may be development opportunities to achieve specialist competence in occupational medicine.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a company doctor with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that makes people feel secure.

You provide medical expertise at the intersection of work demands and employee functionality, primarily in individual assessments but also at group and organizational levels. Examples of tasks may include medical checks, assessments of impending work-related ill health, short-term absence, alcohol and drug cases, and work ability assessments.

Your work will involve meeting individuals, leading multi-party meetings, adopting a coaching approach in consultative assignments, and conducting smaller training assignments. In all these roles, you are expected to contribute medical expertise with a holistic perspective where sustainable work ability is the focus.

Travel within the county is part of the role. The Occupational Health Service has clinics in Lycksele, Skellefteå, and Umeå.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a Swedish medical license with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare.

You are a specialist doctor with an additional specialty in occupational health care/occupational medicine or a specialist in occupational and environmental medicine, or another specialist doctor with an interest in Occupational Health Care.

To succeed in the role of company doctor, you have good collaboration skills, are self-driven, and quality-conscious. You are stable, clear, and possess problem-solving abilities.

We require good knowledge of the Swedish language at a level corresponding to C1.
