The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrland University Hospital in Umeå is the largest psychiatric clinic in Norrland with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric wards, forensic psychiatric services, and several specialized outpatient and treatment units. The Psychiatric Clinic works for equitable care for all and nursing based on research and clinical experience. The clinic operates in a newly built facility where the care environment is characterized by the importance of the care environment in promoting health. The care and work environment is supported by modern technology and research, which is evident in the lighting and communication systems. The clinic is climate-smart through self-sufficiency in electricity and heating.

We are now looking for nurses for Ward 4.

Ward 4 is an inpatient ward with 13 beds and 30 employees. Our focus and target group are individuals with dual diagnosis - mental illness alongside addiction/substance abuse. In addition to the ward, we have an associated detoxification unit with 6 beds. We also work with both acute and planned withdrawal treatments. Our work is carried out in close collaboration with other departments in the clinic. Important parts of our daily work include collaboration and planning with outpatient clinics, municipalities, police, treatment homes, and primary care. We operate based on a modified 3-3 work schedule model, meaning you have a reduced weekly working time with a maintained full-time salary. As a new employee in the region, you can join such a schedule model after 3 months.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe.

We work in care teams where you participate in planning care together with the patient, the responsible physician, and other team members. In the work with care planning, contact with relatives, municipalities, and outpatient care is included. The ward has varying tasks and new challenges every day. You work in your care team with medication distribution, care plans, and lead the daily psychiatric nursing work.

We offer you as a nurse varied tasks with room for your own initiatives and the opportunity to influence the content of care.

To help you succeed in the role, you will be offered orientation and supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with an interest in psychiatric nursing and want to help develop round-the-clock care. Experience in psychiatry is an advantage.

You should have good collaboration skills and the ability to make independent decisions. Furthermore, we see that you have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, at least at level C1.
