The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå is the largest psychiatric clinic in Norrland with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric wards, forensic psychiatric services, several specialized outpatient clinics, and treatment units. The Psychiatric Clinic works for equitable care and treatment based on research and clinical experience.

The Psychiatric Clinic operates in a newly built facility where the care environment is characterized by the idea of the environment's significance for promoting health. The care and work environment is supported by modern technology and research, which is evident in the lighting and communication systems. The clinic is climate-smart through self-sufficiency in electricity and heating.

We are now looking for a nurse who wants to work night shifts on Ward 1.

Ward 1 is a general psychiatric ward consisting of 8 beds with a focus on anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and neuropsychiatric disabilities.

The ward provides care according to HSL and LPT and has close collaboration with other units within the clinic.

You will receive individual orientation based on your experience and competence, as well as a mentor.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with us, you contribute to taking good care of others and helping people feel better.

During the night, tasks include medication distribution, assessment of psychiatric well-being both for patients in the ward and through phone calls, as the ward has a psychiatric emergency function at night. Acute admissions, nursing, and collaboration with other staff, care neighbors, and on-call doctors.

We work closely with the relevant outpatient clinic and other units within the clinic.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. You have an interest in psychiatric nursing work and want to be involved in developing 24-hour care.

Experience in psychiatric inpatient care and knowledge of coercive care legislation is an advantage. You should have good collaboration skills and the ability to make independent decisions. Furthermore, we see that you have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, with at least a C1 level.
