The Neuro-Head and Neck Center (NHHC) provides highly specialized healthcare as well as research, education, and development in diseases, injuries, and trauma in the field of head, neck, and ears.

The rehabilitation medicine activities at NHHC in Umeå are part of a regional and county-wide operation consisting of various components:

• Brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation, which includes both a care ward and outpatient clinic, assessing and rehabilitating primarily traumatic injuries.
• Neuro and stroke rehabilitation provides rehabilitation for patients with chronic and progressive neurological diseases as well as stroke rehabilitation.

Our rehabilitation activities conduct joint quality work.

The brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation provides national highly specialized care for spinal injuries. We focus on assessing, treating, and rehabilitating individuals with acquired disabilities, injuries, neurological diseases, and chronic/severe pain conditions. The patient's own needs and goals are always at the center. Function, ability, activity, and participation in various areas of life are guiding concepts in daily work.

Within the rehabilitation activities, we work multidisciplinary and team-based. We take good care of new employees, and you will receive thorough orientation. Here, you have several colleagues with many years of experience who share knowledge and develop each other. The lengths of stay in the ward are relatively long. You will have the opportunity to get to know the patients and become an important player in their rehabilitation journey. We apply a bio-psycho-social approach, meaning we see the whole person in their life situation and their individual goals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a specialist physician with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel secure.

You now have the opportunity to help shape our new operation with a special focus on National Highly Specialized Care for Spinal Cord Injured Patients. As a specialist physician within our operations, you work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team. In addition to the highly specialized care, you participate in and have overall medical responsibility for the assessment, care, treatment, and rehabilitation of adult patients with neurological diseases and stroke. The work takes place in both outpatient and inpatient care.

Here, you actively participate in the quality and development work of the operation. You work, among other things, on developing collaboration with external actors, both nationally and regionally. In addition to patient-related work, you participate in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a specialist physician in rehabilitation medicine. The most important thing for us is that you have an interest in working with acquired spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, and neurological rehabilitation.

Since we work in teams with many professional categories, it is important that you have good collaboration skills. Language skills corresponding to Swedish C2 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are required.

If your qualifications have not been peer-reviewed previously, this must occur before taking office in accordance with the Regulation (1998:1518) on eligibility for certain positions within healthcare.
