The elderly care in Umeå Municipality aims to be a resource that liberates and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life through proximity and interaction.

Nordstjärnan at Marieberg, about 6 km from Umeå city center, is a newly built care and nursing home that, together with a preschool and a production kitchen, forms a unique collaboration house in Umeå. The building has four floors and houses a care and nursing home with 60 apartments. On the ground floor, there is a square with a café and stage where children and residents can participate in joint activities such as exhibitions, singing, or Lucia processions. The preschool's studios can be used by both children and the elderly. The surrounding area offers access to forests and nature. There is a greenhouse in the yard that everyone can enjoy. The building also features a winter garden with the possibility for winter cultivation.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for providing our residents with good, safe, and secure care based on their individual needs.

Your tasks will include assistance with personal care, meals, medication management, activities, and outdoor visits.

Upon delegation from the responsible nurse, you will perform medical tasks and be responsible for documenting completed interventions, actions, and the residents' health status in accordance with current routines.

You contribute to a meaningful and secure everyday life through a professional approach and good communication. As a contact person, you work with the resident's participation and self-determination in focus, ensuring that the interventions are carried out with high quality in accordance with the assistance decision and implementation plan.

About You

In your interactions with residents, high competence is required, based on personal suitability, maturity, and good empathetic ability. You show a strong commitment to both users and the organization in your relationships and daily work. You enjoy working independently and are both patient and proactive. At the same time, you have a good ability to collaborate and cooperate with colleagues, relatives, and other professionals. Personal suitability is highly valued.

For all positions, we are looking for individuals with experience in care and nursing work, preferably in elderly care. We would like you to be a trained nursing assistant or caregiver, but this is not a requirement. To communicate with users, relatives, and colleagues, write and access care documentation, and receive medication delegation, you need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

Heavy lifting may occur, and mobility aids should be used. Smoking is present in the workplace, so you should not be allergic.

Three positions available as temporary contracts, full-time, starting as soon as possible by agreement until 2026-08-31. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. There may be a possibility for extension.
