Passalen is a non-profit organization that works for a more inclusive society that sees the potential in all children. We create inclusion for children and young people with disabilities who need support to organize their leisure time, find a friend, or try seasonal work, and we conduct activities that promote meetings between people.

Program-specific information

Passalen's activities are carried out through various programs and projects; in this role, you will work in Clubs by Passalen. Clubs by Passalen is a program that offers children and young people with disabilities the opportunity to participate in open leisure activities, such as activities at youth centers, swimming pools, and sports facilities. We act as a bridge to enable children and young people with disabilities to take part in open leisure activities. We have dialogue with participants to create conditions for each individual's participation.

Through the program, participants receive support to engage in various activities, such as crafts, gaming, games, and sports. The goal is to help participants meet new friends, develop their social skills, and increase their participation in society.

We also work with outreach efforts to reach the target group and inform them of our existence. We do this by contacting participants via phone and visiting schools and other places where the target group is located.

Job description

Your work as an activity coach primarily involves conducting various clubs in open leisure time together with our participants. A club can be an activity at a youth center, such as baking, playing video games, or crafting, a visit to a swimming pool, or trying out a sport. You actively participate in the organized activity and support all participants to engage based on their conditions, abilities, and needs. You are there as a role model and friend for Passalen's participants and have the task of ensuring that each participant feels seen and welcome. Collaboration is an important part of the role; you should enjoy working in a team but also be able to work independently. You work to ensure that Passalen's participants are included in the regular leisure activities.

You may also conduct outreach work through school visits, where your role is to inform about Passalen and possibly lead an activity with the students, as well as through phone contact with our members. In addition to the practical work with activities and outreach efforts, simpler administrative tasks will also occur in the form of documentation.

This is a full-time position with immediate start.

· have recently completed studies at the high school level

· are curious about meeting people who are different from yourself and care that everyone feels seen and included in social contexts

· are self-driven and proactive, as it often requires you to make your own decisions on-site

· are structured, patient, and have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations

· have good communication skills within your work group as well as with participants, guardians, and others you meet in your role

Meritorious for the position (but not a requirement)

· previous experience working with the target group

· previous experience leading group activities for children and young people
