Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions
We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Welcome to Financial Assistance
The area of financial assistance is divided into five units, including one reception unit and four investigation units.
The individual is at the center, and we work together but with different parts in the processing. Financial administrators work with the economic investigation, while social workers handle the social investigation, planning for the individual, and making decisions regarding financial assistance.
We offer
With us, you will participate in a structured introduction program for new employees, which is followed up for six months by group leaders, mentors, and unit managers. We offer continuous professional development, including training in MI, mapping methods such as Initial assessment and FIA, basic training in financial assistance, and knowledge about neuropsychiatric disabilities. All units have external supervision once a month. Within the area of financial assistance, there are also various working groups where you have the opportunity to be involved and influence the development of the operations.
You will have a unit manager and group leader available to guide you and your colleagues and who also leads and distributes the daily work. Here, we care for and support each other, and we also value our differences.
As an employee with us, you have a wellness allowance and the opportunity to take advantage of favorable offers from several gym chains and swimming pools. Please read more about our benefits here (#).
Your role
As a social worker with us in financial assistance, you have a dual mission: you work to help people address their financial issues and to assess the right to assistance in the meantime. The work involves investigating and processing financial assistance as well as social motivational and change work.
At Järva district administration, we focus on the client and always try to create a good alliance with a focus on individual planning for each client. We have a varied client group that is at different stages of becoming self-sufficient, and it is your task as a social worker to create a plan with the client that motivates and moves them forward in the process towards self-sufficiency. In addition to engaged leaders and colleagues, you also have partners such as the Employment Service and Job Center, addiction care, the Social Insurance Agency, LSS, healthcare, and psychiatry to assist you.
As a social worker in one of our investigation teams, you are responsible for your own client group. You have good opportunities to set up your monthly schedule in a way that works for you, allowing you to meet your clients regularly, follow up on their planning, and process their applications on time. Your work contributes to ensuring that fair assessments are made and that clients receive the support they need.
Your qualifications and experience
We are looking for someone who has:
- A degree in social work.
- Experience working in financial assistance is an advantage.
To thrive with us, you should be interested in working with people and treat others with respect. You are goal- and result-oriented, engaged, and structured. The client's progress towards self-sufficiency is important to you, as is making fair assessments.
You show interest in your work area and plan and organize your work effectively and carefully. You are humble about your mission and aware of both the opportunities and limitations that delegation entails. You have good collaborative skills and are motivated to find solutions together with the client. You are relationship-building in your approach, both towards clients and partners, and contribute to a good collaborative climate. We also believe that you are flexible and can adapt to changing circumstances, which is valuable in our constantly evolving work.
If you find it stimulating to discover new paths to self-sufficiency for our clients and at the same time have a structured working method, we believe that the role of social worker may suit you.
Other
We recruit without a personal letter in this recruitment to strengthen the focus on the competencies and experiences required for this role. In assessing your application, we will only consider your CV and a number of questions you will need to answer when applying for the position. We ask that you respond concretely and succinctly to the questions, and that there is a clear connection between your answers and your CV.
We place great importance on personal abilities and skills. Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis. A probationary period may be applied. The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competence and thus counteracting discrimination.
