The Swedish National Heritage Board is hiring a case officer for state heritage buildings
The Swedish National Heritage Board is the national authority that leads and supports the work of preserving, using, and developing cultural heritage. Our operations are located in Visby, Stockholm, and Tumba, and we also conduct public activities at the visitor site Glimmingehus. We have approximately 250 employees.
Your responsibilities
You will work with state heritage buildings.
A large part of the position involves processing and assessing applications for changes to state heritage buildings, as well as responding to referrals concerning such objects. The work also includes participating in revision work and formulating protective regulations for state heritage buildings. Participation in consultation meetings with managing authorities regarding changes to state heritage buildings and in the development of care programs for state heritage buildings are examples of other tasks.
You will be a support for the department and the authority as a whole based on your expertise in the built cultural environment. The work is carried out in collaboration with other employees and other authorities.
An important part of the work consists of creating and maintaining good contacts both internally and externally, for example with state property managers. The work is varied and stimulating and is done together with engaged and competent colleagues.
Your qualifications
You have an academic education with a focus on building/conservation archaeology combined with work experience in the field. You also have experience working in an authority or in another public sector that we consider equivalent, as well as several years of experience dealing with complex conservation issues. The work as a case officer for permit applications requires you to be independent and decisive.
You express yourself well and fluently in both speech and writing, have experience in communicative work, and are used to representing your organization in external contexts. You are meticulous, structured, and have good analytical skills. You work independently but also have good collaboration skills. As a person, you are unpretentious and open to learning new things and contribute positively to creating a good workplace characterized by engagement and joy at work.
Since the work involves external contacts and close collaboration with colleagues, personal suitability is highly valued. You need to have a good ability to structure and prioritize your work, as the workload and issues vary over time.
The Swedish National Heritage Board is now a preparedness authority, so experience with issues from a preparedness and security perspective is also an advantage. Experience with digital working methods is also a merit.
Other
The position is a permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period. The place of employment is Stockholm or Visby, and we offer the possibility of some remote work if the operations allow. The position is classified in a security class, and a security check with a background check will therefore be conducted before a hiring decision is made. Welcome to submit your application with CV and cover letter. Please mark your application with diary number RAÄ-2026-169.
